Greater Noida: On April 14, 2026, a commemorative program was held at the Beta 1 Community Centre to mark the 135th birth anniversary of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar. The event was organised by RWA Beta 1 and saw the participation of several residents. The program was presided over by RWA President Sangeeta Sharma. Floral tributes were offered to the portrait of Dr. Ambedkar, with attendees paying their respects and remembering his invaluable contribution to the nation.
The proceedings were conducted by RWA General Secretary Harendra Bhati. Addressing the gathering, Patron Devi Sharan Sharma (Advocate) highlighted Dr Ambedkar’s pivotal role in the making of the Constitution and urged people not to view great leaders through the lens of caste or religion, stating that such personalities are an inspiration for all sections of society.
Patron Dr. Sheetla Prasad said that Dr Ambedkar made significant efforts to ensure dignity and equal participation for women in society. He also noted that due to differences with the then government, Dr. Ambedkar resigned from his post as the country’s Law Minister.
Several members and residents were present at the event, including Sheetla Prasad, Devi Sharan Sharma, Sangeeta Sharma (President), Harendra Bhati (General Secretary), Advocate Vipin Bhati (Treasurer), Rajbir Singh (Vice President), Om Prakash Sharma (Secretary), Bhim Singh Bhati, R P Sharma, Reshpal Singh, Chaudhary Jaipal Singh, Rajendra Singh, Yogesh Thakur, Sunil Bhati, Surendra Bansal, Rajendra Sharma, Mahendra Singh, Vidya Devi, Lalit Nagar, Rahul Numberdar, Vijay Pal Singh, Dharmendra, Layak Singh Yadav and Shravan Kumar among others.
The event concluded with a collective message to uphold the values of equality, justice and unity that Dr. Ambedkar stood for throughout his life.
