Greater Noida West: Maa Nanda Devi doli yatra was organised at Himalaya Pride Society in Greater Noida West, bringing together residents and devotees in an atmosphere of faith, devotion and emotion.
During the event at Himalaya Pride, devotees offered prayers to Maa Nanda and participated in the procession while giving her a heartfelt farewell as a daughter.
Social worker Naresh Nautiyal said the Nanda Devi doli yatra is not merely a religious procession but an emotional and traditional journey rooted in Uttarakhand’s culture. Maa Nanda is revered as a daughter, and her doli is carried and bid farewell with the same affection and emotions with which a daughter leaves her maternal home for her marital home.
Nautiyal said the most special aspect of the event was the belief that the journey was led not by any individual but by Maa Nanda herself. “We were only her devotees, servants and mediums,” he said.
The event also saw participation from residents of the society as well as devotees who came from different places to join the procession. The atmosphere was filled with devotion, affection and a strong sense of community.
According to Nautiyal, the event was not about giving credit to any individual. He said the successful organisation of the doli yatra was the result of Maa Nanda’s blessings and the collective faith, cooperation and participation of the residents of Himalaya Pride.
He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all residents, devotees, artists and everyone who contributed to the organisation of the sacred procession.
