Residents gather at DCP Surajpur office to submit multiple complaints against late-night loudspeaker use at Radha Krishna Park in Gaur City 1.
Greater Noida West: A growing noise pollution controversy at Gaur City 1’s Radha Krishna Park has triggered strong reactions from residents, who allege repeated violations of Supreme Court guidelines due to the use of loudspeakers late at night during frequent events and festivals.
Park meant for recreation turns into an event hub
For years, Radha Krishna Park has served as a green space for residents to walk and exercise. However, in recent times, the number of events hosted at the park has increased significantly, transforming it into a venue for commercial and large-scale celebrations. Residents say these events often continue late into the night, with loud music and announcements disrupting daily life.
April 12 incident sparks outrage
Tensions escalated following an incident on April 12, when an event held at the park continued well past midnight. Residents who approached organisers requesting that the sound be lowered were allegedly met with abuse and threats, even in the presence of police personnel.
According to residents, organisers responded with remarks such as “do whatever you want, the loudspeaker will continue,” and the high-decibel sound persisted until 1:15 am.
Residents of Gaur City 1 escalate protest over late-night noise at Radha Krishna Park. Despite repeated complaints, loudspeakers continue past midnight, violating norms and disturbing families. Over 70 petitions submitted to police, demanding strict action.
Ankit Vaishya, a resident whose D Tower is located close to the park, said the constant use of loudspeakers has become unbearable.
The noise from morning and evening events itself is disturbing. When it continues late into the night, it becomes impossible to focus on office work.

Anita Prajapati emphasised that residents are not opposed to events but expect adherence to rules.
“We have no issue with any event. We only request that sound systems be switched off in accordance with Supreme Court guidelines. There are small children and elderly patients at home who struggle to sleep.

Another resident, Yogesh, highlighted the broader impact:
“We respect cultural and religious events, but loudspeakers blaring till midnight or beyond affect children’s studies and our professional responsibilities due to lack of sleep.”
Yogesh
Amarjeet Rathore pointed out that the issue is persistent throughout the year.
“Despite being a residential area, high-decibel noise from various events continues regularly. This is a clear violation of Supreme Court directives.

Collective action and formal complaints
Following the incident, residents convened a meeting and decided to escalate the matter. A group including Ankit Vaishya, Ashwini Singh, Pradeep Kansal, Anita Singh and Anita Aakhariya met the DIG and submitted a formal complaint seeking strict regulation of loudspeaker usage. Residents have also indicated that more delegations will approach the DCP to press for action.
70–80 petitions filed at the DCP office
In a parallel development, a large group of residents gathered at the Surajpur DCP office and submitted between 70 and 80 formal complaints regarding noise pollution at the park. They sought updates on a petition filed under Section 152 of the BNSS on April 15 and presented testimonies from over 100 affected residents detailing the ongoing disturbance. Copies of the complaints were also submitted to the SHO of Bisrakh police station, urging immediate intervention.
Law and order concerns raised
Residents warned that the April 12–13 night incident nearly escalated into a law and order situation due to the confrontation between organisers and residents. They also expressed frustration that even after calling emergency services via 112 after 10 pm, enforcement agencies often fail to stop loudspeaker use.
Long-standing issue without resolution
Residents say the problem has persisted for several years without a permanent solution. The continued lack of enforcement has led to growing dissatisfaction and concerns about governance in the area.
Demand for strict and permanent action
Residents are now demanding immediate, strict and sustainable measures to regulate events at Radha Krishna Park. They have urged authorities to ensure compliance with noise pollution norms and prevent recurrence of such incidents. Those present during the complaint submissions included Ankit Vaishya, Amarjeet Rathore, Yogesh Bhagaur, Jitendra Negi, Vivek Kwatra, B M Bali, Ravi Kishor, Ramesh Sharma, Ramrikh Sharma, Kamal Jain, Pranay Jain, Arpit Kapoor, Mamta Singh, Pushp Raj, Pramod and Abhishek, among others.
