Jewar: An integrated registration system is being proposed to facilitate toll relief or exemption at the Jewar Toll Plaza on the Yamuna Expressway for eligible local residents and farmer families of the Jewar Assembly constituency.

The proposed system aims to make the registration and verification process simpler, transparent and citizen-friendly while reducing repeated visits to government offices. Under the proposed arrangement, eligible applicants will be able to register through a single online system and, after verification, their eligible vehicles will be integrated with the toll operator’s system for FASTag-based toll relief.

The initiative has been welcomed as a step towards implementing a long-standing demand of residents and farmer families in the region.

Online registration through link or QR code

Under the proposed system, an online registration form will be made available through an authorised web link or QR code. Eligible residents will be able to access the form using their mobile phones.

The application is expected to seek essential information including:

  • Applicant’s name
  • Village or town
  • Mobile number
  • Eligibility category
  • Vehicle registration number
  • Relevant FASTag details

To prevent duplicate registrations, only one application per vehicle will be permitted.

Verification to be completed through a single system

Once an application is submitted, it will go through an eligibility and document verification process.

The proposed mechanism includes an opportunity for applicants to rectify deficiencies in their applications. If any information or document is incomplete, the applicant would be informed about the deficiency and given an opportunity to make the necessary correction instead of having to submit an entirely new application.

After eligibility is confirmed, the eligible vehicle will be integrated with the toll operator’s system so that the toll-relief benefit can be provided through the FASTag mechanism.

The proposed system is intended to create a central database through which applications can be verified and the progress of registrations can be monitored.

Registration camps proposed for residents needing assistance

While the registration process is planned to be digital, assistance will also be made available to residents who may face difficulties completing the online application themselves.

Local assistance centres or registration camps are proposed where applicants can receive help with registration.

Importantly, the same central online form would be used at these centres so that applications submitted with assistance also remain part of the central database. This would facilitate village-wise verification and monitoring of the registration process.

Dhirendra Singh says, ‘Focus is on simple and transparent process’

Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh said the proposed facility is important for local residents and farmer families whose cooperation and contribution have played a significant role in the development of the Jewar region.

He said the priority is to ensure that every eligible person can access the toll-relief benefit without unnecessary inconvenience.

According to the MLA, the system is being designed to minimise paperwork and visits to different offices.

He said the objective is to have one application, a clear application identity and a one-time verification process, followed by smooth access to toll relief for the eligible vehicle.

The MLA also said that applicants should be given an opportunity to correct deficiencies rather than being required to restart the entire registration process.

Residents’ suggestions to be considered

Singh said farmers and local residents have played an important role in the development of the region and that making their day-to-day lives easier should accompany major development projects.

He also said suggestions from residents would be welcomed to make the registration process more practical and citizen-friendly.

The proposed system is based on four key objectives:

Minimum paperwork, minimum visits, maximum transparency and direct delivery of the benefit to every eligible resident.

Residents advised to use only authorised registration channels

Eligible residents have been advised to register only through the authorised registration link or QR code.

Applicants have also been urged to submit only one application per vehicle and carefully enter their mobile number and vehicle details to avoid errors during verification.

Residents have further been advised not to share personal documents with unauthorised persons or submit information through unverified links.

The registration link and QR code are proposed to be made available along with the related communication for the convenience of eligible residents.

The implementation of the integrated system is expected to streamline the process of identifying eligible beneficiaries, verifying their documents and linking approved vehicles with the toll operator’s FASTag-based mechanism.
