Noida Gears Up for Independence Day Celebrations with Cultural Events and Tribute to Martyrs

Noida: The city is set to mark the 80th Independence Day with cultural programmes, flag hoisting ceremonies and tributes to freedom fighters and martyrs at different locations on August 14 and 15.

The JVCC in Sector 21 has planned a two-day programme to celebrate the occasion. The celebrations will begin on August 14 at 7 pm with a cultural programme titled “रंगोली: वीरों को नमन”, paying tribute to the brave hearts of the nation.

On August 15 at 10:30 am, another programme titled “वीरता की विरासत: आज़ादी का उत्सव” will be organised along with the flag hoisting ceremony.

A special highlight of the programme will be the presence of Shri Yogesh Arun Rao Jhansiwale Ji, the sixth-generation descendant of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi, who will attend the event as the chief guest.

Meanwhile, a special Independence Day programme will also be organised at the Shaheed Smarak in Sector 29, opposite APS in Sector 37.

According to the programme schedule, participants will assemble at 10:50 am on August 15. The national flag will be hoisted at 11 am by Lt Gen GL Bakshi, Chairman, NSSS.

Following the flag hoisting, the chairman will pay homage at 11:03 am. At 11:05 am, the next of kin of martyrs will also pay tribute to the shaheeds.

The programmes aim to bring residents together to celebrate the spirit of independence while remembering the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters and martyrs. Residents and community members are expected to participate in the ceremonies and pay their respects to those who laid down their lives for the nation
