Greater Noida West : On the occasion of World Health Day, April 5, 2026, a unique and deeply inspiring initiative brought together the real heroes of society, cancer warriors, under one platform. CAN-A-THON 1.0, India’s first-ever run dedicated exclusively to cancer warriors, marked a significant step in reshaping the narrative around cancer survivorship. Organised by NGO Ek Pahal Jagrukta Ki Ore, led by Dr Rashi Agarwal (Founder) and Manisha Kumar (Cancer Warrior & Secretary) and curated by F3 Fitness Hub, the event was held at Tech Zone 4, Greater Noida West.
A run dedicated to courage and survival
More than 100 cancer warriors participated across categories, including those undergoing treatment, post-treatment survivors and individuals in remission. Unlike conventional runs, CAN-A-THON 1.0 was exclusively designed for cancer warriors, from participation to recognition, making it a deeply personal and empowering experience. Participants chose their pace, walk or run. But each step reflected resilience, strength and the will to move forward despite adversity.
The event witnessed overwhelming support from caregivers, families, doctors and fitness enthusiasts who joined the warriors in solidarity. Their presence reinforced the message that the fight against cancer is never fought alone. Adding to the seamless execution of the event, cyclists from AAE, NECR and SWAG groups played a crucial role as marshals. They not only ensured route safety and coordination but also assisted with hydration support for participants along the way.
From the Noida Cycling Group, Senior most cyclist R. S. Uppal, SWAG group member Bhawana Gaur and AAE representative Rajsuta Gangwar were present with their teams, motivating and encouraging the warriors throughout the event.
A message beyond treatment
The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining health and fitness throughout cancer survivorship. It highlighted a crucial reality: the journey does not end with treatment; it evolves every day through lifestyle, mindset, and community support.
“The battle against cancer does not end with treatment; it continues every day thereafter. This event was a tribute to those unseen and unspoken battles fought daily by every cancer warrior.”
