Noida: A meaningful awareness session was organised on the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day at Sanskar Adhyayan Kendra, Sarfabad, Sector-73, on Friday. The initiative was conducted by First One Rehab Foundation in collaboration with Noida Lokmanch.

The session focused on building understanding around autism and encouraging inclusive behaviour among children. Students participated actively and learned about early signs of autism, the importance of empathy and ways to support peers with developmental differences. The event highlighted inclusion as a shared responsibility within classrooms and communities.

Experts also raised concerns over excessive mobile usage and poor posture among children. They explained that prolonged screen exposure can lead to eye strain, neck and shoulder pain, reduced concentration and slower learning ability. Specialists cautioned that such lifestyle patterns may further aggravate neurodevelopment-related challenges in some cases.

Doctors Dr Mahipal Singh and Dr Diksha Srivastava clarified that autism does not affect every child, but modern lifestyle factors such as limited social interaction and busy working parents can sometimes lead to overlapping symptoms that resemble autism spectrum behaviours.

During the programme, the foundation distributed in-house materials prepared by children, including a magazine, handwash and glass cleaner, among teachers and students. Practical guidance was also provided to educators on early screening techniques at the classroom level.

The event was attended by key members of the foundation, including CEO Dr. Sushmita Bhati, Krishna Yadav (Admin Head), Ilika Rawat (Special Educator), Abhinav Pratap Singh (Physiotherapist), Naitik Ojha and Rajat Sharma. From Sanskar Adhyayan Kendra, Principal Pushpa Singh, Treasurer Mukta Gupta and special guest Renu Chhibber along with other teachers, were also present.

The initiative reinforced the importance of awareness, early identification and collective effort in supporting children with diverse developmental needs.
