Crater-filled road in Beta-1 leaves commuters at risk, residents allege authority negligence

Greater Noida: The service road in B and C blocks of Beta-1 sector has deteriorated to a dangerous level, triggering anger among residents over alleged administrative apathy. The stretch, riddled with deep potholes and severe waterlogging, has become a daily ordeal for commuters and pedestrians alike.

The road condition has worsened beyond comparison, even poorer than rural roads. Large craters filled with stagnant water have made both walking and driving extremely risky. Several incidents of people falling and sustaining injuries have been reported, while vehicles continue to suffer damage due to the uneven surface.

RWA General Secretary Harendra Bhati stated that the issue has been raised multiple times with concerned officials.

Complaints were reportedly made to senior manager Rajesh Nim, manager Swatantra Verma and assistant manager Kuldeep Sharma, but no concrete action has been taken so far.

He further alleged that even at the managerial level, the problem is not being treated with urgency. Residents claim that their complaints are either ignored or met with unsatisfactory responses, reflecting a lack of accountability.

Demanding immediate intervention, residents have urged the CEO and ACEO of the Greater Noida Authority to take strict action against responsible officials and ensure urgent repair and reconstruction of the road. They warned that continued negligence could lead to a major accident if the issue is not addressed promptly.

The worsening condition of essential infrastructure in a planned city like Greater Noida has once again raised serious questions about maintenance oversight and the responsiveness of civic authorities.
