Noida : A new system was launched in Greater Noida to catch those who jump red lights and drive at over speed. 27 lakh high tech surveillance cameras will be installed in Greater Noida to help in public safety, traffic management and emergency situations.
This project is being started under ‘Safe City’ and ‘Integrated Security Traffic Management System’, which will cost around Rs 227 crore. These cameras will help in smooth operation of traffic violations, public safety, and emergency services.
Live monitoring will be done from the Integrated Command Center
A state-of-the-art Integrated Command Control Center will be set up in Knowledge Park-4 for live monitoring of the cameras to be installed under this project, so that the security of the entire city can be monitored.
Technical features of the camera
Automatic number plate recognition cameras: For traffic rule violations and vehicle identification.
RLVD cameras: For monitoring red light violations.
SVD system: For detecting overspeeding and other traffic violations.
Traffic control system: Will work according to real-time traffic flow.
VMD displays will be installed at intersections
Variable message display (VMD) boards will be installed at major junctions to inform commuters about traffic status, alternative routes and emergency alerts.
Emergency call boxes and public address systems
Emergency call boxes will be installed at crowded areas and crossings, which will connect directly to the emergency team. Apart from this, public address systems will also be installed, so that emergency information can be easily disseminated.
All police stations will be connected to live CCTV network
All police stations of Greater Noida will be connected to this network. A 40-inch LED screen will be installed in each police station, on which live footage of various cameras of the city will be available. Pink booths will also be built especially for the safety of women.
Green corridor facility
This system will facilitate the creation of green corridors during emergencies, so that ambulances, fire vehicles and emergency services can reach their destination without interruption.
