Greater Noida: Fear of stray dogs is growing among residents of Greater Noida’s Beta-1 and Beta-2 sectors, with repeated incidents of aggressive dog behaviour making it difficult for people to walk freely in parks and residential areas. In the latest incident, a woman who had stepped out for a morning walk in Beta-1 was reportedly attacked from behind by a pack of stray dogs. She sustained a serious injury to her knee in the incident. RWA General Secretary Harinder Bhati visited the area to assess the situation and said the growing presence of stray dogs has become a serious concern for residents.
Dog packs creating fear among residents
A similar incident was also reported from Beta-2, where a pack of stray dogs allegedly attempted to attack people who were out for a walk. The repeated incidents have raised concerns, particularly among senior citizens, women and children, who are increasingly hesitant to use parks and common areas. Residents say the situation has become so concerning that some people are now forced to carry sticks while going out for walks to protect themselves from aggressive dog packs.
Residents demand immediate action from the Authority
Residents of both sectors have urged the concerned authority to take immediate action and send a dedicated team to the area to address the stray dog problem. They have demanded that aggressive stray dogs be identified and dealt with as per applicable rules, while also ensuring that residents can safely use parks and public spaces. With incidents reportedly continuing in both Beta-1 and Beta-2, residents are seeking urgent intervention from the Greater Noida Authority before the situation leads to a more serious injury or attack.
