Noida: Commuters travelling between Delhi and Noida continue to face heavy traffic congestion near the Delhi-Noida border due to long queues at the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) toll plaza. The toll collection process reportedly leads to daily traffic jams, causing inconvenience to thousands of commuters. The situation becomes particularly concerning when emergency services are affected. A recent incident in which an ambulance reportedly got stuck in the traffic has raised serious questions about traffic management and the passage available to emergency vehicles. The photograph from the stretch shows a long queue of vehicles on National Highway 9, with traffic moving towards Ashram, Sarai Kale Khan and India Gate.

Nikhil Singhal questions the toll arrangement

Raising the issue, Noida HighRise Federation (NHRF) president Nikhil Singhal said that an expressway is meant to ensure smooth and faster movement of vehicles, but daily congestion caused by the toll plaza defeats this purpose. He expressed concern over emergency vehicles, particularly ambulances, getting stuck in traffic and said that such situations could affect timely medical assistance.

Demand for immediate review and better traffic management

Singhal has urged the MCD and concerned authorities to review the existing toll arrangement immediately and introduce additional measures to ensure smoother vehicle movement. He has also demanded a dedicated, uninterrupted passage for ambulances and other emergency vehicles. Commuters travelling between Delhi and Noida continue to seek relief from daily traffic congestion, with residents expecting the authorities to address the issue and improve traffic management around the toll plaza.
