Bowlers Complement Kohli, Patidar As RCB Crush PBKS By 60 Runs

The India Meteorological Department reports that Bengaluru saw 14 mm of rain in the 24 hours leading up to 8:30 am on Friday. In a statement, it stated that over the previous 24 hours, the city’s top and lowest temperatures were 33 and 22 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The RCB squad reached 241/7 thanks to Kohli’s 47-ball 92, which was the cornerstone of their innings. He was brilliant in two partnerships, scoring 72 off 32 balls with Patidar (55 off 23 balls) and 92 off 46 balls with Cameron Green (46 off 27 balls).

After Rilee Rossouw scored 61 runs off of 27 balls in response, PBKS collapsed after Karn Sharma hit two consecutive blows, leaving them all out for 181 in 17 overs.
As PBKS (8) could only muster a maximum of 12 points from the final two games, they were eliminated from the playoff race. This was RCB’s fourth straight victory, bringing them to 10 points.

Lockie Ferguson (2/29), Karn (2/36) and Swapnil Singh (2/28) each grabbed two wickets, while Mohammed Siraj (3/43) secured three for the RCB.
Chasing a difficult goal, PBKS lost Prabhsimran Singh (6) early on, but Rossouw was irrepressible, belting Siraj for three fours and a six after left-arm spinner Swapnil Singh was carted for two fours.

PBKS scored 75 runs in six overs after Jonny Bairstow (27) and Rossouw struck Yash Dayal and Ferguson for 16 and 14 runs, respectively.
Following Ferguson’s removal of Bairstow, Rossouw focused on Green, hitting two fours and a six on route to his fifty off just 21 balls.

Karn then thoroughly cleaned out Jitesh Sharma, and Swapnil removed Liam Livingstone (0) as Punjab collapsed to 126 for 5 in the twelfth over.

When Sam Curran (22), Ashutosh Sharma (8), and Shashank Singh (37), returned to the dugout, it was all over because they were unable to bounce back from those blows.

Earlier, after being dropped on 0 and 10, Kohli skillfully timed the ball and made use of his wrists and feet to reach his sixth IPL fifty of the year. After hitting his target in 32 balls, he hammered another 40 in the next 15 balls. Six maximums and seven fours were smashed by him.
The early momentum came from Patidar, who was also handed two lives, who hammered six maximums and three fours in his 23-ball 55.

Following Patidar’s removal, Kohli and Green carried on the attack, pushing RCB over the 200-run threshold. Before getting caught with the last ball, Green struck five fours and a six as RCB scored 77 in the final five overs.
On his IPL debut, pacer Vidhwath Kaverappa (2/36) took two wickets in the powerplay, but if the fielders hadn’t dropped three catches off his bowling, his stats would have been far higher.

Although Will Jacks (12) and Faf du Plessis (9) were removed by Kaverappa after Kohli was dropped in the third delivery, PBKS was unable to apply pressure because to runs being lost by Sam Curran (1/50) and Harshal Patel (3/38).
After dropping Patidar, Patel let up three boundaries in his opening over, allowing RCB to score 56 on the powerplay.

After that, Kohli and Patidar hammered a maximum each to ruin Kaverappa’s bowling statistics, and it began to pour sixes.
After hitting three massive maximums off spinner Rahul Chahar, Patidar went on to hit two more sixes off Arshdeep and Sam Curran, the latest of which took him to fifty in only twenty-one balls.

In the ninth over, RCB reached 100 with Patidar blazing. In the tenth over, though, Curran dismissed Patidar after a brief rain delay.
Following the restart, Kohli struck Livingstone for two fours and finished his fifty.
Green hit a four off Patel to bring up the 150. After that, Kohli lost control and slog-swept Livingstone for a six. Curran was then dropped over mid-wicket for a maximum of 94 metres. He sent one long-on for a second best.

After making a brief appearance, Dinesh Karthik (18) was removed by Patel in the final over.
