Noida: There was a long-standing dissatisfaction among the residents due to the non-conduct of RWA elections in Udyog Vihar Sector 82 Society. The term of the current President and General Secretary of the society expired in October 2024, but elections have not been held yet. The Deputy Registrar intervened several times regarding the election process, even an inquiry officer was appointed twice and an election officer once, but the elections could not be held.

According to sources, the previously appointed election officer refused to conduct the elections due to some pressure. Because of this, the Deputy Registrar has once again issued an order and appointed a new election officer and inquiry officer. Also, the Deputy Registrar has declared the President and General Secretary as time-barred, so that now there will be no administrative hindrance of any kind and the election process will be completed fairly.
Now the question arises when the term ended in October 2024, why have the elections not been held till now? The President and the General Secretary should give a clear answer to this. Was there an attempt to postpone the election to deprive the members of the society of their rights?
Now it remains to be seen when the election process is completed after the appointment of the new election officer and the democratic system is restored in the society.
