Before Ramadan Jumma, Eid and Navratri, security was tightened in Noida-Greater Noida. In view of the festivals, Section 163 of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) has been implemented (earlier Section 144) in Noida Greater Noida till 31 March 2025..

Section 163 for 4 days is to maintain law and order during the celebrations

The police of Noida-Greater Noida are vigilantly looking after the security arrangements because of the festival and taking necessary action. According to the Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Commissionerate, the purpose of implementing Section 163 for 4 days is to maintain law and order during the celebrations. According to him, the officials have urged the citizens to cooperate and follow the rules to ensure a peaceful and safe environment.

These are the upcoming festival

In the next few days, big festivals like Namaz, Chaitra Navratri, Eid-ul-Fitr, Ram Navami, Mahavir Jayanti, Ambedkar Jayanti, Parshuram Jayanti Maharana Pratap Jayanti, Good Friday, Buddha Purnima are coming. In such a situation, this decision has been taken as a precaution to maintain law and order and to conduct the festivals in a peaceful environment.

5 or more people will not be able to gather together anywhere without permission

After the implementation of Section 163, 5 or more people will not be able to gather together anywhere without permission. Along with this, there will be a complete ban on processions. Any program or procession can be organized only with the permission of the administration. With a large number of people expected to gather across the district, security measures have been increased to prevent any untoward incident.

Ban on offering Namaz on the streets

According to the Police Commissioner’s Office, the police have also assured prompt action against any violation. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal police also issued instructions saying that Jumma and Eid-ul-Fitr prayers should be offered only in mosques and Idgah premises; offering prayers on roads or rooftops is prohibited.
