Noida : Residents of Supertech Romano in Sector 118, Noida, are facing severe hardship after the society’s maintenance agency allegedly abandoned operations without prior notice, leaving nearly 400 families struggling with basic services including water, electricity and security.
According to residents, the maintenance agency stopped functioning from May 14 and disappeared without handing over society management, documents or operational responsibilities. Following the incident, residents lodged an FIR at Sector 113 police station against the agency’s three owners.
Residents allege that despite regularly paying maintenance charges, the agency suddenly shut down operations, triggering chaos inside the society. Elderly residents, children and families are reportedly facing major inconvenience due to disruption in essential services.
People living in the society claim that:
- Water supply and electricity-related issues have intensified.
- Guards have stopped working, raising security concerns.
- Residents are forced to carry water bottles from the basement to their flats.
- Fear of theft and unauthorised entry has increased.
- Fire safety preparedness has become a concern in the absence of maintenance staff.
Residents also alleged that disputes over prepaid electricity meter deductions and unresolved complaints had been ongoing for some time.
Repeated complaints failed to resolve the issues, after which the agency eventually left the society.

Several residents have demanded immediate police deployment and administrative intervention until a new maintenance arrangement is restored. Concerns are also growing over the financial management of the maintenance agency and the future operation of the housing society.
Police have reportedly started investigating the matter.
