Greater Noida West : Parents staged a protest outside The Wisdom Tree School on Saturday over an alleged steep increase in school fees. The protesting parents accused the school management of raising fees far beyond the limit permitted by authorities and ignoring repeated concerns raised by families.
Holding posters and banners outside the school premises, parents claimed that the District Fee Regulatory Committee had allowed only a 7.23 per cent fee hike, but the school allegedly increased fees by nearly 40 per cent. They said the sudden rise has put significant financial pressure on families.
Promise of the affidavit is yet to be fulfilled
According to the parents, the school management had earlier assured them that it would provide a written affidavit regarding the safety of students’ education and future. However, they alleged that no such document has been shared so far.
The school was not complying with administrative directions despite repeated instructions. He urged the District Magistrate and the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) to intervene and take action in the matter.

Concerns rise after Income Tax Department action
Parents also expressed concern over reports related to action by the Income Tax Department against the school. According to the allegations raised during the protest, a property worth around ₹125 crore linked to the school has reportedly been declared a benami property, creating uncertainty and fear among parents regarding their children’s future.
The issue was earlier discussed in a meeting between parents and school authorities on April 5, 2026. During the meeting, the school management had reportedly assured parents that it would submit a written undertaking to safeguard the education of nearly 1,700 students. Parents claim that assurance has still not been fulfilled.
Repeated complaints, No resolution
Parents said they had approached the school management several times, but no concrete solution was provided. Meanwhile, the school principal maintained that the fee hike was implemented as per the rules.
Parents’ grievances would be addressed and clarified that action would be taken if the fee increase exceeded the limit fixed by the District Fee Regulatory Committee.
