Greater Noida West: Tensions are boiling over in the lead-up to the Raksha Adella Society AOA elections, as 12 candidates mostly from the incumbent Team have dramatically withdrawn their nominations, citing threats, verbal abuse, and defamation by rival group supporters.

The mass withdrawal, from a total of 22 nominations, has left only 10 candidates in the fray, all from Team Adella Parivaar, who now appear set to be elected unopposed, raising serious concerns over the transparency, fairness, and legitimacy of the electoral process.

The outgoing AOA team has alleged that the electoral atmosphere has become “unsafe and intolerant.” In one alarming incident on June 22, AOA member and candidate Saurabh Sharma (B-1903) allegedly received an abusive call with threats of physical harm, believed to be from a supporter of the opposition.

Meanwhile, Vice President Deepak Gupta claimed outsiders were pressuring him, and a video showing an attempted assault on volunteer Priyanshu Chaurasia has gone viral, further stoking resident outrage.

Top members of Team Raksha Adella, including President Amit Sahay (F-403) and General Secretary Nagendra Singh (I-1102), have submitted formal complaints to the election committee, accusing it of failing to enforce a code of conduct or curb personal attacks.

A resident, speaking anonymously, remarked, *“They may win the posts, but not the people. This will be a lame-duck AOA.

With all opposition candidates gone, the July 6 elections are now expected to see an uncontested win for Team Adella Parivaar, but at the cost of growing resident distrust.

Team Raksha Adella has announced it will now act as a strong opposition, actively monitoring the functioning of the new AOA.

As of now, the election committee has not released any official statement regarding the complaints.
