Noida: To promote public health awareness, Radio Amity 107.8 FM, in collaboration with the Department of Medical Health and Family Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh, organised a special radio talk under the Communicable Disease Control Campaign, being observed from July 1 to July 31.
The programme featured an in-depth discussion between Mr Piyush Vardhan Singh Chandel, Station Head of Radio Amity 107.8 FM and Dr Shruti Kirti Verma, District Malaria Officer, Gautam Buddh Nagar.
During the discussion, Dr Verma shared important information on the prevention of communicable and vector-borne diseases, including dengue, malaria, chikungunya, and other mosquito-borne illnesses. She explained that the monsoon season creates ideal breeding conditions for mosquitoes due to waterlogging and stagnant water.
She advised residents to prevent water accumulation in and around their homes, maintain proper cleanliness, wear full-sleeved clothing, and regularly use mosquito nets, repellents and other protective measures to reduce the risk of infection.
Piyush Vardhan Singh Chandel said that Radio Amity 107.8 FM remains committed to providing the community with reliable and timely health information through educational programmes. He appealed to listeners to actively support the Communicable Disease Control Campaign and urged them to seek immediate medical consultation at the nearest health centre.
