Noida: The Noida Village Residents Association (NOVRA) has issued a strong warning to the Noida Authority over its failure to fulfil the promise to construct a parking space beneath the Bhangel Elevated Road. The association has made it clear that if the commitment is not honoured, it will launch large-scale protests and pursue legal action.
NOVRA raises a strong Objection, warns of Agitation
Under the leadership of President Dr Ranjan Tomar, NOVRA has taken a firm stand against what it calls a breach of promise by the authority. The association has warned that continued inaction will lead to mass-level demonstrations and a legal battle to secure residents’ rights.
A video of Dr Tomar highlighting the issue has gone viral, intensifying public attention. He stressed that the promised parking facility is a lifeline for Bhangel, one of the busiest markets in the region. Without it, both traders and residents are likely to face severe inconvenience.

Parking crisis deepens in key areas
The situation is already critical in Barola, where the construction of dividers has eliminated existing parking spaces. Concerns are now mounting for Salarpur and Bhangel, where similar infrastructure changes could worsen the crisis.
Residents fear that the lack of proper planning will disrupt not only daily commuting but also the economic activity of the area. Local businesses, in particular, are expected to suffer due to reduced accessibility.
‘Public vs Authority’: Issue escalates
NOVRA has termed the situation a direct “public vs authority” battle. According to the association, while lakhs of residents and traders are demanding basic infrastructure like organised parking, the authority continues to ignore these legitimate concerns.
The association has also raised serious allegations regarding increasing encroachment in Bhangel and Salarpur. It claimed that such widespread encroachments are unlikely without administrative support or negligence. NOVRA argues that if the authority were truly acting in the public interest, parking construction would have already been initiated and illegal encroachments addressed.
Legal action and wider protest on the cards
NOVRA has made it clear that the matter now goes beyond parking and reflects larger issues of public rights and administrative accountability. If immediate action is not taken, the association is prepared to escalate the protest across Noida.
It has been warned that over 100 NGOs and multiple social and trade groups could join the movement. Large-scale demonstrations, road protests, and even legal proceedings in court are being considered.
This is no longer just a fight for parking, but for the rights of the people and it will be fought at all costs.
