Greater Noida West: More than 100 families living in 120 flats of Krishna Homes Apartment located in Greater Noida West have been waiting for a legal electricity connection for the last year. The builder is accused of making arrangements for illegal power supply instead of giving legal connections to the residents despite charging huge amounts.

Dependence on illegal electricity became a cause of concern

This society with about 400 residents is currently being supplied through electricity purchased illegally by the builder Gaurik Green Homes Private Limited. This unsafe system has caused constant concern among the residents.

“We entered our flats in October 2023 after completing all the legal formalities. The builder has demanded Rs 35,000 for every flat. Promising that meters will be installed soon, but instead, electricity is being supplied through illegal cables.”

Appeal for help from Greater Noida Authority and MP

Residents said that they contacted Greater Noida Authority and local MP Dr Mahesh Sharma. In August 2024, the MP assured that the NOC (No Objection Certificate) required to give connection to NPCL (Noida Power Company Limited) would be issued soon. However, no solution has been found so far.

Builder gave his clarification

On the other hand, the builder has said in his clarification that he has already obtained NOC from the authority. The work of setting up the electrical infrastructure is going on. The unavailability of a valid electricity connection has not only put the residents in an unsafe situation. But has also seriously affected their daily life needs. There are children, elderly and patients in the society. For whom this situation is creating more difficulties?
