Noida: The Daan Utsav 2024 celebrations, formerly known as “The Joy of Giving Week,” were inaugurated by Commodore R. Nath, President of JVCC, on 2nd October 2024. Till 3rd October 2024, the Laughter Club conducted a successful collection drive, gathering surplus household items from about 150 residents for the organization Goonj.

The club aims ito uplift under privileged children

Since 2016, under the leadership of Commodore Ashok Sawhney, the club has aimed to uplift underprivileged children and women through Laughter Yoga. The celebrations concluded on 8th October, leaving participants with a profound sense of fulfilment.

Children learn an important lesson – Unity is strength

Throughout the week, club members engaged with over 1,000 children and adults, including visits to Apna Ghar Ashram, Sector 34, Sai School, Sector 21, Sai Bal Sansar, Sector 41 and Jal Vayu Vihar Sectors 21 and 25 and a drawing competition for 150 children from the Divyatarang Educare Foundation. They imparted important life lessons, emphasizing themes like “Unity is Strength” and the health benefits of laughter.

Essential items collected and distributed

In addition to healthy food packets, the club donated essential items such as stationery, water bottles, electrical items and dry rations to each organization they visited. The club had earlier collected contributions from their members and the residents in and around Jal Vayu Vihar.
