In the Haryana Assembly elections, the Congress on Sunday unveiled a list of nine candidates, including Uchana Kalan’s Brijendra Singh and Gurugram’s Mohit Grover.
The Congress has nominated 41 candidates in total for the 90-member assembly using this list.
Along with Grover and Brijendra Singh, the Congress fielded the following candidates: Vardhan Yadav from Badshahpur, Ashok Arora from Thanesar, Kuldeep Sharma from Ganaur, Paramvir Singh from Tohana, Anirudh Chaudhary from Tosham, Balram Dangi from Meham, and Manju Choudhary from Nangal Chaudhary.
Former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda of Garhi Sampla-Kiloi, state unit leader Udai Bhan of Hodal, and wrestler Vinesh Phogat of Julana were among the thirty-two candidates announced by the Congress on Friday for the elections.
Following the announcement of a list of 31 candidates, the party announced in a statement that Balbir Singh, a candidate from the Israna (reserved for the Scheduled Castes) constituency, had been authorized by the CEC.
Singh is the Israna MLA currently in office.
All 28 of the MLAs were nominated again by the venerable party.
The Congress has selected Mewa Singh from Ladwa to challenge Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini in addition to Hooda, Bhan, and Phogat.
Hard negotiation is taking place on both sides as the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) discuss seat distribution for the upcoming elections in Haryana.
Concerns have been raised by a few Congressmen regarding a partnership with the Arvind Kejriwal-led party.
