Noida: A vibrant annual programme titled “Junoon” was organised by the Active NGO group at the Noida Entrepreneurs Association Auditorium, bringing together a powerful network of over 115 non-governmental organisations. The event marked not just a celebration, but a strong display of collaboration, social commitment and grassroots impact.

Formed during the Covid-19 pandemic through the initiative of a few organisations, the Active NGO group has grown into one of the most dynamic and diverse networks. Today, it stands out as a unique collective where organisations working across education, healthcare, environment, women’s empowerment and social development come together under a shared vision.

The programme was attended by chief guest Pankaj Singh, who praised the efforts of the group and emphasised the importance of coordination between civil society and administrative bodies. He reiterated his continued support, highlighting his role not just as a public representative but also as a collaborative partner in social initiatives.

Over time, the Active NGO network has emerged as a crucial bridge between civil society and governance, facilitating engagement with key institutions such as the Commissioner’s office, District Magistrate’s office and the Noida Authority. This coordination has strengthened citizen participation in development and governance.

One of the defining features of the group, as highlighted during the event, is its non-hierarchical structure. There is no formal hierarchy and all member organisations contribute equally based on their capacity and commitment, making it a truly collaborative platform.

The closing segment acknowledged the pivotal role of Dr Ashok Srivastava, whose efforts have been instrumental in building and sustaining the network. Dr Ranjan Tomar presented a detailed overview of the group’s journey and achievements over the past five years.

The event featured a series of cultural and social presentations, including musical performances, street plays, poetry recitations and an award ceremony recognising contributions in social service. Prominent attendees included Yogendra Narain, Mahesh Saxena, Shalini Singh, Anil Singh and Vipin Malhan, along with a large gathering of residents and social workers.

The success of “Junoon” reinforced the idea that collective action and shared purpose can significantly amplify social impact, making the Active NGO network a noteworthy model of collaborative development.
