Greater Noida: A major theft incident at Greater Noida’s Paramount Golf Foreste Society has once again raised serious questions over security arrangements in high-rise and gated communities across the district. Residents allege that despite multiple layers of security and surveillance systems, thieves managed to enter the society in broad daylight, target a villa and escape without facing any resistance.

The incident took place in the jurisdiction of Surajpur police station area at Sector Zeta-2, where the upscale Paramount Golf Foreste Society is located. According to residents, the theft occurred on April 25 between 11:30 am and around 2 pm.

Residents said CCTV footage clearly shows the accused entering the society premises without being stopped by security guards. The suspects were reportedly seen roaming outside the villa before carrying out the theft. After the crime, they allegedly exited the premises comfortably through Gate No. 1 without any questioning or checking.

According to residents, the villa owner had stepped out with her child for a medical check-up during the time of the incident, which the thieves allegedly used as an opportunity to target the house.

Jewellery and cash worth lakhs stolen

Residents claimed the accused broke the villa lock and thoroughly searched cupboards and lockers inside the house before fleeing with nearly 650 grams of gold jewellery and approximately Rs 6 lakh in cash.

People living in the society said this was not the first such incident. Similar theft cases have reportedly taken place earlier as well, with residents repeatedly questioning the effectiveness of the society’s security system and the alleged negligence of the builder and security agency.

Residents question security arrangements

The incident is deeply concerning and unacceptable. Such incidents not only expose loopholes in security arrangements but also create fear and insecurity among residents. The management must immediately strengthen security systems, including proper CCTV monitoring, stricter entry-exit checks and increased vigilance by guards. Had proper checking been done at the gates, this incident may not have happened.

She further alleged that CCTV footage indicates serious negligence by guards deployed at the society.

Neither were entry-exit registers maintained properly nor were visitors checked adequately. When a security agency is entrusted with residents’ safety, a high level of accountability is expected.

Residents demand strict action

Residents have demanded immediate corrective measures from both the society management and the security agency. They are seeking stricter supervision of guards, regular security audits and accountability from the agency responsible for maintaining safety inside the premises.

Several residents also alleged that crime in the area has increased in recent months. Some claimed that police often delay registering complaints and that residents are forced to make repeated visits before FIRs are lodged.

Locals argued that regular police patrolling in the area could have helped prevent such incidents.

Police form three teams for investigation

Station House Officer Vinod Kumar of Surajpur police station confirmed that a case has been registered against an unidentified accused and investigation is underway.

Police said three teams have been formed to crack the case and identify the accused. Officials claimed the suspects would be arrested soon and the incident would be solved at the earliest.
