Noida: Residents of RG Residency, Sector 120, Noida celebrated Rabindra Jayanti on the occasion of the 164th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. His birth anniversary is generally called “Pochishe Boishakh” as it is the 25th day of Bengali month Baishakh. Members and residents of Banga Maitri Cultural Society and Trust (BMCST) celebrated the day with music, dance, drama and recitation.
“Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high”- Aditya Kumar Pal, President of BMCST inaugurated the occasion and paid tribute to the brave soldiers.
The chief guest of the function was Dr Avijit Banerjee who is the renowned dramatist and playrighter. BMCST welcomed the renowned painter duo Tirthankar Biswas and Ram Krishna Agarwal, along with Pradeep Jaiswal, President of AOA RGR and Ashok Bindlesh, Secretary of AOA RGR.
The function was inaugurated with the song “Anandalok” by the members of BMCST and many other creations of Gurudev like “Anondo Dhara Bohiche Bhubane”, “Tumi Keman Kore Gaan Koro He Guni” and other similar creations were presented.
Cute little girls performed on “Amra Nutan Jaubaneri Dut”, “Momochitte Mete Nritya”.
Rabindranath Tagore is very close to every Bengali household of ours.” “Every year we celebrate this occasion to ensure that our future generations understand his contribution to our cultural heritage.” His works played an influential role in achieving independence from the British and also helped in the Bengal Renaissance with new ideas of modernism and liberalism.
