Noida: During a meeting with the District Development Residents Welfare Association (DDRWA), DCP Noida Ram Badan Singh assured the residents of several measures during the festive season including increased police patrolling, verification of unauthorised vendors and prompt response on the 112 helpline.

Over 50 members of RWAs from sectors 11, 12, 30, 56, 72, 22, 34 and 52 among others, met the police and traffic officers on Tuesday to discuss safety concerns and traffic management measures.

CFO Pradeep Kumar Choubey spoke about the heightened fire safety measures during Diwali, while ACP traffic Hemant Kumar assured of smooth traffic flow.

The residents raised security, law and order concerns along with rising incidents of cybercrime across the city. They pointed out unauthorised parking and a lack of police patrolling in residential sectors, encroachments on roads by unauthorised vendors, illegal parking and loud music from unauthorised banquet halls, as well as regular traffic snarls across key areas and markets in the city.

NP Singh, President, DDRWA, demanded increased police patrolling during the festive period, DDRWA patron Sushil Aggarwal called for a routine police verification of tenants, vendors, domestic helps, drivers, watchmen, guards etc.

DCP Singh requested all RWAs to get their security personnel, domestic help, tenants etc. verified through e-verification. DCP Singh told the RWAs to ensure that the guards on night duty maintain a register regularly. He said police patrolling teams would check these registers to ensure the guards are alert.

Residents also pointed out that on several occasions, people couldn’t get through the 112 complaint number. The DCP gave out his contact number and said the residents could call him any time in case of any problem. “I will address the issues raised to me,” he said.
