Noida: Under the leadership of N P Singh, President of DD RWA Federation Gautam Buddh Nagar, a delegation met Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar Chaube on May 5, 2026, to discuss the increasing incidents of fire outbreaks in Noida, Greater Noida and the Yamuna region, along with the need for stronger fire safety measures and preparedness. During the meeting, the federation also submitted a memorandum highlighting concerns related to fire prevention infrastructure and emergency response capabilities in high-rise residential and industrial areas.
The federation informed the fire department that Noida and Greater Noida have a large number of sectors, residential societies, high-rise apartments, industrial units, community centres, wedding homes and farmhouses where lakhs of residents live and work. The delegation pointed out that several high-rise societies in the region are 40 to 50 storeys tall, but the fire department currently lacks sufficient hydraulic systems and advanced firefighting equipment required to tackle emergencies in such tall buildings. DD RWA demanded that all high-rise projects should only be approved after builders ensure adequate fire safety arrangements and installation of modern firefighting systems according to the height and structure of the buildings.
The representatives further raised concerns about apartment complexes being developed in village areas without proper access roads, making it difficult for fire tenders to reach during emergencies. The federation also highlighted the growing water crisis in Noida and Greater Noida due to rapid high-rise development and suggested that authorities should reconsider granting permissions for buildings beyond 10 to 12 floors. The delegation requested the fire department to organise awareness meetings across sectors and societies so residents can be educated about fire safety measures and emergency preparedness.
Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar Chaube appreciated the initiative taken by the RWA federation and assured full cooperation from the fire department. He stated that fire service officials would work jointly with RWAs to conduct meetings and awareness campaigns in sectors and apartment societies.
Among those present during the meeting were DD RWA vice president Anil Kumar Singh, general secretary Sher Singh Bhati, Mamta Tiwari, Raju Pradhan and Fire Service Officer Vinod Pandey.
