The Jawa 42 FJ, a new neo-classic motorcycle, has been introduced in India by Mahindra-backed Classic Legends. This new model, which is attractively priced at Rs 1,99,142 ex-showroom Mumbai, is meant to upend the neo-classic market.
A larger plan to bolster and enlarge Classic Legends’ footprint includes the release of the Jawa 42 FJ.
The Jawa 42 FJ’s 350 cc engine rivals the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, which costs Rs 1,49,900, and the Honda H’ness CB350, which costs Rs 2,09,838. With 30 brake horsepower (bhp), the Jawa 42 FJ has a higher power output than its competitors’ 20.2 bhp.
In elaborating on the company’s mission, Classic Legends co-founder Anupam Thareja said, “Our goal is not just to participate in the market but to create and dominate it.” To make sure that our products stand out and satisfy our clients’ changing needs, we are making significant investments.
Of the Rs 1,000 crore raised, Thareja said, Classic Legends has already invested about Rs 350 crore; the remaining funds would be used to increase production and broaden its distribution network.
In addition, Thareja talked about the company’s intentions to grow, which include adding 100 additional dealers and service stations in an effort to improve accessibility and customer service ahead of the festival season.
Classic Legends’ CEO, Ashish Singh Joshi, emphasized the new Jawa 42 FJ’s strategic pricing and performance advantages. “When compared to competitors in the same price range, the Jawa 42 FJ offers a substantial 40% increase in power,” Joshi said. This demonstrates price-performance disruption quite clearly. We’re transforming the market, not just playing a part in it.
The Jawa 42 FJ is Classic Legends’ tenth model to be released since the company’s founding. The organization has been broadening its line of business to serve a more diverse clientele. Three models comprise the neo-classic sector, which is targeted towards a younger demographic: the Yezdi Roadster, Jawa 42 FJ, and Jawa 42.
Anand Mahindra, the chairman of the Mahindra Group and a co-founder of Classic Legends with a 60% share, commented on the launch, saying that, at their core, brands are nothing more than a compilation of their stories. Both newly established businesses and revived brands have fresh narratives to tell. Previously, the business produced sturdy, reasonably priced, and dependable bikes that caused a stir in Europe. We are running a marathon right now. Even if we stumble or fall, we’ll get back up and run again. We sincerely hope that each and every one of you will support us and keep your distance.
The motorbike has spoke wheels, a dual-channel anti-lock braking system, and liquid cooling, which are not present in its rivals. There are six variations to choose from, with prices ranging from Rs 1,99,142 to Rs 2,20,142.
In order to gain a significant market share in the neo-classic niche, Classic Legends is certain that the Jawa 42 FJ will be instrumental in attaining this objective. The corporation kept its monthly numbers, market share, and sales forecasts a secret.
Additionally, Classic Legends is concentrating on expanding its global reach; BSA motorcycles are already offered in 33 nations, while Jawa is making progress in Eastern Europe and other regions.
