Greater Noida West: For the second week, on April 26, 2025, hundreds of flat owners protested against NBCC (a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking under the Government of India) at the construction site against the delay in handing over possession of their flats.
Amrapali is the most highlighted delayed project
There are a total of 32 towers in this project of Amrapali Group. For which NBCC had issued a tender to build 4964 flats under Verona Heights Package A/B and 1906 flats in the name of Adarsh Awas Yojana. YFC Projects Private Limited started work on the 8 towers being built in the name of Adarsh Awas Yojana in August 2020, and even after 5 years, the construction is still incomplete.
Construction is not even 50% completed, when to expect the handover?
At present, the construction of some towers at the construction site is not even 50% complete due to which there is confusion among the buyers and people are also wondering how such a situation can happen in a Supreme Court-monitored project!
‘No construction deadline‘ – Homebuyers
The Hon’ble Supreme Court understood the pain of us home buyers and only then gave the responsibility of construction to NBCC by excluding Amrapali Group from all the projects, but now even NBCC has not been able to fulfil its promises and has also crossed the construction deadline of March 2025 which is being constantly changed.

‘Delay due to some changes’ – NBCC
‘Some challenges are there’ – NBCC officials
After the demonstration, a meeting of home buyers was held with senior officials of NBCC at the construction site. It was informed that the delay is due to some challenges and they will be overcome soon.
Planning for re- tender
Out of the eight towers, the deadline for three towers A1, G1, and H1 will be completed in October and F1 in November 2025. Apart from this, for the other four towers B1, C1, D1, and E1, the responsibility will be taken back from the current construction company YFC Project and re-tendered again. All this work will take 1 month and after that, these four towers will be completed in the next 1 year.

Homebuyers need relief, still in state of dillemma
After today’s meeting, home buyers are again worried whether NBCC will fulfil its promises or whether the condition of the Supreme Court-monitored project will also be like Amrapali, these questions are still running in the minds of all the aggrieved home buyers and the answer to this will be found only in the future.
