Greater Noida West: The dispute over the implementation of multi-point electricity connections at Panchsheel Hynish Society in Sector 1, Greater Noida West, has intensified, with residents alleging that the Apartment Owners’ Association (AOA) obstructed the process, forcing the Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) team to return without starting the work. According to residents, NPCL had already conducted a survey and issued a final notice to the builder and AOA on October 22, 2026, informing them that installation work would begin on October 28. The proposed system aims to provide individual electricity meters to every flat and connect consumers directly with the power distribution company. However, when the NPCL team arrived at the society on the scheduled date, members of the AOA’s allegedly outdated executive committee and some supporters reportedly opposed the work. Residents claim that the team had to leave without commencing the installation.
Residents question the existing single-point electricity system
Residents have also raised concerns over the existing single-point electricity arrangement, alleging that prepaid electricity recharges are sometimes withheld due to pending society dues, even when individual residents have already made advance payments. They claim that this has caused repeated disputes and, in some instances, required police intervention. Residents believe that the multi-point system will bring transparency to electricity billing, allowing each flat owner to receive bills directly from NPCL and pay according to individual consumption, independently of other society maintenance dues. Several residents, including Ram Mohan Singh, Sukriti Bhattacharya, Bhaskar Kanungo, Meenakshi, Ishank Sharma, Nitin Shukla, Mahendra Pratap Singh and Sanjeev Sharma, have expressed dissatisfaction over the delay. They have also questioned why NPCL’s senior officials have not taken effective action despite the completion of the survey, issuance of the final notice and announcement of the installation date.
Residents seek police protection for installation work
Residents have urged the administration to intervene and ensure that the multi-point connection process resumes in accordance with applicable UPERC directions and regulations. Their demands include providing adequate police protection and administrative support to the NPCL team, preparing a time-bound plan for installing individual meters and ensuring that electricity recharges remain separate from other society dues. They have also called for accountability among senior NPCL officials over the delay. Residents have warned that continued obstruction and delays could further increase dissatisfaction within the society. They are now seeking an early resolution and implementation of the multi-point electricity system.
