Noida. On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, students of the Cultural Club at IMS Noida performed a street play on the college campus to spread a message of social awareness and responsible citizenship. Through the performance, students urged people to celebrate festivals with enthusiasm while remaining mindful of their social responsibilities.
Through the street play, students highlighted that Indian festivals are an integral part of the country’s culture, traditions and identity. They emphasised that while festivals should be celebrated with joy and enthusiasm, celebrations should not cause inconvenience to others.
The students particularly urged people to avoid the unnecessary use of loud music and sound amplification systems. They also highlighted the importance of giving priority to devotion and spirituality, helping those in need and celebrating festivals with cleanliness, harmony, sensitivity and social responsibility.
Meetu Chaudhary, head of the IMS Cultural Club, said the students used their performance to convey that festivals are not merely occasions for celebration but also opportunities to share happiness, understand one’s responsibilities towards society and promote Indian culture and traditions in a positive manner.
She added that through the initiative, students effectively combined their creative and acting skills with social awareness and a sense of responsible citizenship. The street play encouraged the audience to celebrate festivals responsibly while respecting the feelings, comfort and well-being of others.
