Greater Noida: An FIR has been registered in Greater Noida after a social media video allegedly showing waterlogging at the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar was reported as misleading and inaccurate.
According to the complaint, the video was shared from a Facebook account named ‘Sach Bolo’ on August 14, 2026. The complaint alleges that the video presented the airport’s current condition in a misleading manner by showing extensive waterlogging.
The airport management reportedly described the video as false and misleading and approached the police over the social media post.
Video Reportedly Went Viral On Social Media
According to the complaint, the video was being widely circulated on social media. Airport authorities expressed concern that such content could create confusion among passengers and members of the public and potentially affect the image of the Noida International Airport.
The complainant reportedly provided police with screenshots of the alleged post along with the relevant social media link and sought legal action against the Facebook account and those responsible for sharing the content.
Police Begin Investigation
Jewar police have registered a case and started an investigation into the matter.
Police are examining when and how the video was created, who uploaded it on social media and whether the content was digitally manipulated or generated using artificial intelligence.
At this stage, the allegations remain subject to investigation. The police inquiry will determine whether the video actually contained fabricated or manipulated information and whether any offence was committed in connection with its creation or circulation.
The case highlights growing concerns over the circulation of AI-generated and digitally manipulated videos on social media, particularly when such content relates to major public infrastructure projects and can potentially create confusion among the public.
