Noida: Residents of Sector 105 are facing uncertainty over their voter registration status months after submitting forms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign. Alleging delays in verification and issuance of voter identity cards, RWA Sector 105 President Divya Krishnatreya has written to Gautam Buddh Nagar District Magistrate Medha Roopam, seeking immediate intervention.

According to the RWA, despite completing the voter registration process as per the Election Commission’s guidelines, many residents are still unable to confirm whether their names have been included in the electoral roll. The lack of clear information on the online portal and administrative delays have reportedly led applicants to make repeated visits to government offices.

Krishnatreya said the right to vote is one of the most important democratic rights of every citizen and that residents participated in the Special Intensive Revision campaign with responsibility and enthusiasm. However, months after submitting their applications, they continue to remain uncertain about their voter status.

He further alleged that even applicants whose forms have been accepted are yet to receive their voter identity cards, causing inconvenience and dissatisfaction among residents.

Expressing concern over the issue, the RWA president urged District Magistrate Medha Roopam to organise a special verification camp or voter assistance centre in Sector 105. He said such a facility would enable residents to verify their voter registration status without unnecessary inconvenience.

The RWA has also requested the district administration to expedite the preparation and distribution of pending voter identity cards for eligible applicants.

Krishnatreya expressed confidence that the district administration would take prompt and effective steps to safeguard the democratic rights of residents by resolving the issue at the earliest.
