Sector 135: Noida Authority’s unique initiative, took a big step for helpless dogs

Noida: The initiative of the Noida Authority for the benefit and treatment of stray sick dogs is quite commendable. Lokesh M, CEO, of Noida Authority, has given information that the authority has built 4 dog shelters. In which Sector-34 dog shelter has been inaugurated. Sector-135 dog shelter will be inaugurated on June 20 and the remaining two dog shelters will start operating in August 2024. This information was given by Dr. Lokesh M, CEO of Noida Authority.

An initiative of the Noida Authority for Dogs

Lokesh M, CEO, Noida Authority has inaugurated the newly constructed dog shelter in Sector-34. The CEO has given instructions to submit a report every week. Noida Authority officials informed Apartment Times that in these shelters, provisions have been made for first aid, anti-rabies vaccination, training, food and water arrangements, sleeping and roaming of street dogs.

Welfare trusts have been allotted tasks to take care of shelter house

Vasundhara Animal Welfare Trust and People for Animals have been allotted the task of operating dog shelters in Sector-34 and 50, under which the operation of the dog shelter was started in Sector-34 on June 11, 2024.

Demands of residents of Noida will be fulfilled

Noida Authority officials say that these dog shelters will fulfil the long-standing demand of Noida residents. Aggressive and biting dogs will be trained and made home-friendly. Also, the selected agencies will do the annual anti-rabies vaccination of all street dogs in the sectors and villages around the shelters, for which coordination will be done with the RWA.

Shelter homes open for dogs

Lokesh M, CEO, Greater Noida Authority has expressed concern over the poor condition of the animal shelter in Sector-94. He directed the Public Health Department to clean the compound and dispose of the damaged items in 3 days. He directed the Senior Manager, Work Circle-9 to place slabs on the open drains of the compound and connect the drain to the main drain. The Electricity Department was directed to arrange for adequate electricity in the compound and Water Block-III to install an additional water connection. CEO of Noida Authority Dr. Lokesh M. said that every now and then disputes arise in some society or the other due to dogs.

Stray dogs can be kept in the dog shelter

This will benefit the residents of the city. Lokesh M, CEO says, ” Many initiatives are being taken by the Authority to provide relief to the common man from the dangers of stray dogs. For this, people are also being instructed to give water or food only at their designated feeding points. They can also be fined for any kind of tampering or violation of rules.”
