Noida : Around 40 pigs belonging to a family in Data Village, Greater Noida, died under suspicious circumstances. The family has accused a neighbor of poisoning the animals through their food and has lodged a complaint at Kasna Police Station.

A veterinary doctor conducted post-mortem examinations on the dead pigs. Samples of the viscera and feed have been sent to a forensic laboratory in Mathura for testing. Police said further action will be taken based on the investigation and forensic report.

According to reports, Rajeev Valmiki, a resident of Data Village, runs a pig-rearing business along with his brothers Vinod and Vivek. They had around 50 pigs on their plot.

Rajeev alleged that on Thursday evening, Vivek fed the pigs at around 6:30 pm and returned home. When he came back at about 9:30 pm, he found 40 pigs dead.

Rajeev has accused Rajesh and his father, Sukhveer, who live nearby, of poisoning the pigs. He claimed that the accused had previously threatened them to remove the pigs from the area and had warned that if the animals were not relocated, they would deal with the matter in their own way.
