Woman, Child Rescued After Lift Gets Stuck

Greater Noida West: Panic gripped residents of Shri Radha Sky Garden Society on Wednesday night after a woman and her young child got trapped inside a lift around 9 pm following a power outage.

According to society residents, the lift stopped midway due to an electricity disruption, leaving the occupants stranded. After receiving information about the incident, the society’s maintenance team rushed to the spot and safely rescued the woman and her child.

Maintenance Team Replaces Fuse, Repairs LT Panel

The society management said the incident occurred due to a technical fault. The maintenance team immediately replaced a damaged fuse and began repair work on the LT panel to restore power supply.

Management officials stated that efforts were made to rectify the fault and restore electricity to the affected towers at the earliest.

Residents Raise Concerns Over DG Backup Capacity

Society resident S.P. Yadav alleged that the diesel generator (DG) sets installed in the society are not capable of handling the electrical load of the entire complex. As a result, power supply keeps tripping repeatedly, affecting the functioning of lifts and other essential services.

He further claimed that several towers had been without electricity since around 3 am on Tuesday night, causing prolonged inconvenience to residents. The recurring outages have also raised concerns over the safety and reliability of the society’s power backup system.

Residents Demand Permanent Solution

Following the incident, residents urged the society management to upgrade the DG backup infrastructure and ensure regular maintenance of electrical systems to prevent similar incidents in the future. They said uninterrupted power supply and reliable lift operations are essential, especially for children, senior citizens and women.
