Noida : The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a big decision in view of Navratri. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a big decision to keep meat and liquor shops closed near religious places during Navratri. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh has directed that there will be a complete ban on the sale of meat during the days of Navratri, especially near temples. This decision has been taken by the Uttar Pradesh government respecting religious sentiments, so that the devotees do not face any inconvenience. This decision of the Uttar Pradesh government is being discussed everywhere.
Orders to take strict action
Uttar Pradesh government has ordered strict action against illegal slaughterhouses. To ban the sale of meat in the state, no meat shop will be opened within 500 meters of religious places. This strict decision announced by the Uttar Pradesh government will remain in force till April 6, which is the last day of Navratri.
Committees have been formed at the district level, which will be headed by the District Magistrate
This order is not new, similar orders were issued earlier in 2014 and 2017. Amrit Abhijat, Principal Secretary, Urban Development Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, has directed all District Magistrates (DMs), District Police Chiefs and Municipal Commissioners to strictly implement this order. For this, committees have been formed at the district level, which will be headed by the District Magistrate. These committees will include officials from the Police, Pollution Control Board, Animal Husbandry Department, Transport Department, Labor Department, Health Department and Food Safety Administration.
There will be a strict ban on meat sale
There will be a strict ban on the sale of meat during Navratri, especially on the day of Ram Navami on April 6, 2025. Animal slaughter and meat sales will be completely banned on this day. Under the provisions of the UP Municipal Corporation Act 1959 and the Food Safety Act 2006 and 2011, strict punitive action will be taken against the violators. This decision will not only respect religious sentiments but will also establish effective control over the operation of meat and liquor shops.
