People have applied wholeheartedly for the residential scheme of the Yamuna Authority. The Authority has received more than one lakh applications for 973 plots of various categories. This number is expected to increase further. From the applications submitted by the people, the Authority has received Rs. 64,80,03,94,077. The draw for the scheme will be held by the Authority on June 18. Now, people are waiting for the date of the scheme’s draw. After June 18, the fate of the people whose plots are selected in the scheme will change. The main reason for this is that the market value of the plots is considerably higher than the allocation rate of the Authority.
The demand for this plot is high. The authority’s plan includes plots of 162, 183, 184, 200, 223, and 290 meters. The total number of plots of all categories is 973. The highest number of applications in the plan have been received for the 200-meter plots. For the 200-meter plots, 63,230 people have applied, while 54,821 people have applied for the 162-meter plots. Applications could be submitted in the plan until Wednesday midnight. Until around 6 PM on Wednesday evening, 124,954 people had paid the registration fee to the authority, but only 99,917 people had deposited the voucher amount. According to the authority officials, applications will be accepted for those who deposit the total amount by midnight. It is expected that the number of applicants may reach up to 110,000.
