Greater Noida: To make the city clean, beautiful and green, the Greater Noida Authority has taken a big step and has planned to develop parks, green belts and central verges at a cost of about Rs 100 crore. The first phase of this project has started. Under which tender has been issued to develop green areas and central verges at a cost of Rs 30 crore along more than 24 sectors and major roads.
Parks and green areas will be rejuvenated
Greater Noida’s ACEO Srilakshmi VS informed Apartment Times that under this project, plantation, maintenance of trees and plants and civil repair works will be done in parks and green belts. Due to a lack of regular maintenance, the condition of these areas had become dilapidated. The footpaths are broken, boundary walls are damaged and greenery has almost disappeared. To improve this situation, the authority has prepared a detailed action plan.
In the first phase, the look of these areas will change
In the first phase, the look of sectors like Omicron-2, Delta-2, Mu-2, Knowledge Park-2, Mu-1, Gamma-1, Gamma-2, Chai-5, Pi-1 and Pi-2 will be changed. Apart from this, green areas will also be developed in front of Gautam Buddha University, between the green belt of the proposed night safari and the Savitribai Phule Girls Inter College road. In other areas, development work will also be done in Ju-1 and 2, Omicron-1, Omicron-1A, Sigma-1, 2, 3, 4, Ecotech-10, Knowledge Park-3, Chai-4, Ecotech-11, P-3 and Sector-3.
Greenery project worth Rs 100 crore
Sreelakshmi VS said that Rs 100 crore will be spent under this project. This scheme will not only help in increasing the greenery of the city. But it will also make the green belt along with the parks modern and attractive. The authority has assigned all the responsibilities of the project to a single agency. This includes plantation, maintenance and civil work. The selected agency will have to carry out these works regularly for the next two years.
