As temperatures continue to remain high, Spring Meadows Cricket Club organised its annual sherbet distribution drive to provide relief to people battling the scorching summer heat. The initiative was held at the Spring Meadows exit gate, where nearly 1,100 litres of chilled sherbet were distributed among thousands of people.

The drive benefited commuters, labourers, security personnel, delivery executives, rickshaw pullers and residents passing through the area. The initiative aimed to help people stay hydrated while spreading the message of compassion and community service.

More than just quenching thirst

According to the club, the campaign is not limited to providing refreshments during the summer. It also seeks to encourage a culture of social responsibility and inspire people to come forward and help those in need.

Club members and volunteers enthusiastically served chilled sherbet throughout the event despite the intense heat. Many passersby appreciated the initiative, calling it a meaningful effort that reflects the importance of humanity and collective responsibility.

Volunteers play a key role

The successful execution of the campaign was made possible by the dedicated efforts of several volunteers, including Sandeep Gupta, Surendra, Sanjeev, Praveen, Subir, Bapi, Rakesh, Vivaan Katiyar, Mayank, Vikash Katiyar, Jai Gupta, Avneesh, Atanu, Kanhaiya, Dinesh, Krishanu, Pradeep Raj Narayan and Chiku.

The volunteers managed the arrangements and ensured the smooth distribution of sherbet to everyone visiting the service point.

Club to continue social welfare initiatives

Office-bearers of Spring Meadows Cricket Club said the organisation remains committed not only to promoting sports but also to serving society through various community welfare activities.

They said the club will continue organising initiatives related to environmental conservation, cleanliness drives and other public welfare programmes in the future.

Appeal to citizens to support those in need

The club also appealed to residents and social organisations to extend support to people affected by the extreme summer conditions. It emphasised that small acts of kindness can have a lasting impact and that serving humanity is one of the greatest responsibilities of society.
