Shri Radha Sky Garden : Complaint Followed by Half-Finished Work: Drainage Issue Worsens Despite Action

Greater Noida West: A day after a public complaint highlighted the hazardous condition of the open drain outside Shri Radha Sky Garden, residents say the response from the concerned department has been inadequate. While some cleaning work has been carried out, locals allege that the effort remains incomplete, temporary and technically insufficient, leaving the core issue unresolved.

According to residents, the current condition of the site indicates that only a partial cleanup has been undertaken instead of a comprehensive and permanent solution.

The drain has not been fully cleaned and no safe pedestrian crossing has been provided, increasing the risk for commuters.

Pedestrians and School Children Continue to Face Risk

The area is a busy residential and commercial stretch that witnesses heavy daily movement of residents, shopkeepers and school-going children. Citizens say the unfinished work has made the location even more hazardous than before, raising concerns over public safety.

They also questioned whether such incomplete execution reflects effective utilisation of public funds and whether adequate quality checks were conducted before considering the work complete.

Questions Raised Before the Authorities

Residents have sought answers from the concerned department on several

key issues:

  • Has the concerned authority conducted a proper site inspection to verify whether the work meets prescribed standards?
  • Can public safety be ensured through only partial and cosmetic action?
  • If citizens continue to face unsafe conditions after the work, who will be held accountable for the expenditure of public funds?
  • Can a clean, safe and well-managed city be achieved through incomplete infrastructure works?

Residents Demand Immediate Corrective Measures

The following demands have been placed before the authorities:

  • Complete the drain cleaning work as per prescribed technical standards.
  • Remove all excavated debris and waste through proper scientific disposal.
  • Construct a permanent and safe pedestrian crossing over the drain without delay.
  • Conduct a joint inspection by senior officials to assess the quality and completeness of the work.
  • Fix accountability and initiate action against officials or agencies if negligence is established.

Call for a Permanent Solution

Residents have appealed to the district administration and the concerned department to treat the matter not merely as a complaint but as an issue concerning public safety, accountability in the use of public funds and good governance. They have urged authorities to implement a lasting solution before the situation leads to an unfortunate incident
