RWA-117: Residents demand to shift the animal centre from the residential area, asking where children park

Noida: Team Rwa 117 met ACEO Sanjay Khatri regarding the shifting of the proposed animal centre in the sector by the authority to some other place away from the residential sector.

Kosinder Yadav, President, of Sector 117, “After seeing the headline of the newspaper dated 20/6/24, the residents of Sector-117 came to know that on the land on which Rwa had been demanding a park for the sector for the last several years, a big animal centre is going to be built by the authority for dogs, cats, cows, buffaloes etc. of the entire city on the vacant land adjacent to the same community centre.”

He continues, “This place is very close to the residential houses of the sector and due to the construction of such a centre near the residential houses, a feeling of resentment is growing among the residents of the entire sector, there is already a lot of resentment about these buildings There is a graveyard of the Muslim community in the very nearby Sector-117, where dead bodies are buried every day and now with the construction of this Animal Centre, it will become difficult to live in all the nearby houses because of the foul smell etc.

Residents are very upset says why every such thing in Sector 117

The residents of the entire sector are extremely upset with this step-motherly treatment of the Authority towards Sector-117. First the graveyard and now the Animal Centre, why does the Authority discriminate like this with Sector-117 again and again? Secretary Harsh Mohan Jakhmola said that if this animal centre is built here then it will become difficult to live here and then the day is not far when the entire sector residents will collectively put up boards not outside their houses but at the main gate of the sector to sell their houses, stating that all the houses in this sector are for sale.

Baleshwar Singh, a resident of Sector 117 says, “We are not against the animal centre but we are strongly against the proposed place where the process of building it near our houses is being done by the authority.”

Hariom Singh, Resident of Sector 117 says, “There are about 300 plots in the sector and there is a society (Samajwadi Awas Yojna) of 400 flats built by the authority in which about 2000 people are currently living.”

Kosinder Yadav, President of Sector 117 says, “The authority has already left many shortcomings while planning sector-117, due to which the residents of the sector have to face daily such as:-

1- Despite being such a big sector, there is no sale of any plot in any plot of the sector. Not a single park has been built by the authority in front of it. Small children in the sector are forced to play on the roads.

2- RWA-117 has been demanding the authority to build a park on the land of the above-proposed animal centre for the last several years.

3 – In a large part of the sector, there is Unitech builder’s project Unihomes adjacent to the houses, which has been closed for the last 10-12 years. There is neither a boundary wall from that side nor any other measure to stop anti-social elements. Anti-social elements enter the sector from the same large part and commit incidents of theft etc.

RWA requesting for the proposed shelter house to be planned somewhere else

RWA-117 requests the authority to please build such an animal centre somewhere on the banks of Yamuna or in the flood area, away from the residential sectors, so that people do not face any problems.
