Noida : Residents of Sector-78 have voiced serious concerns over the deteriorating condition of Vedvan Park, one of the city’s flagship themed parks promoted as a major green recreational space. In a formal letter addressed to Dr. Lokesh M, CEO, NOIDA Authority, locals, led by resident Ranjan Samantaray, have urged immediate action to repair infrastructure and restore services that they say have been neglected for months.

Key Issues Highlighted by Residents

According to the complaint, the following problems persist:

  • 40 CCTV cameras have been non-functional for the past several months due to a lack of AMC
  • Infrastructure is in poor shape, including damaged jogging tracks and parking tiles.
  • Security lapses, with street dogs freely roaming inside the park
  • Accusations of a black market for show tickets by security staff
  • Security guards are allegedly selling water bottles illegally, while the park’s water cooler remains non-functional for a year.
  • Vedic plants are missing or dead, leaving only name boards behind
  • Signage boards and statues were damaged
  • Park is closed every Wednesday, causing inconvenience for visitors

Residents say the situation is worsening “day by day,” affecting both visitors and those living near the popular park.

Questions over recently approved funds

The letter also points to financial accountability concerns, claiming that:

“A ₹2.50 crore maintenance amount followed by a ₹1.85 crore tender was approved for Vedvan Park renovation.”

Residents are now demanding a complete audit to ensure transparency and verify whether public funds allocated for improvements are being properly utilized.

Residents Demand Immediate Action

The community has requested the NOIDA Authority to:

  • Conduct a joint meeting involving WC-6, Civil, Health & Horticulture departments
  • Improve security and basic maintenance.
  • Restore all non-functional facilities at the earliest.
  • Deliver quality work on-ground as promised.

They believe Vedvan Park, envisioned as a key recreational landmark for the region, deserves urgent attention before the damage becomes irreversible.
