Noida: Recently Noida Authority has decided to stop dumping horticulture waste/garbage in Sector-32, Noida and has planned to shift it to Sector-117. Sector-117 is a densely populated sector and the place where this garbage is to be dumped in Sector-117 is very close to the high-rising societies of Sector-119,120,74.
Lakh of residents will suffer daily basis
Many societies are coming up within a radius of about 400-500 meters, due to which lakhs of people living in these societies are worried about the ill effects caused by it. The delegation of Rwa 117 met Chief Executive Officer Noida Dr Lokesh NG and Chief Additional Chief Executive Officer of Horticulture Department Vandana Tripathi and requested to shift it to some other place where there is no habitation.
RWA President Kosinder Yadav demanded to stop the dumping
All the points were discussed in detail about the fear and anger among the people of Sector-117 and the surrounding areas regarding the yard and the adverse effects it is having on that area.
Kosinder Yadav, President, RWA 117
I do not know why the authority chooses Sector-117 every time for such works. Last year, an animal center was proposed in Sector-117, which the authority had to withdraw due to public opposition.
Tejveer Singh, Resident, Sector 117
There is no playground in and around Sector 117 where children can play. Please develop this place as a playground so that children of thousands of families living here can have a place to play nearby.
Ajay Garg, Resident
We are also concerned about the health of our families. If the authority does not transfer it completely from here, then no matter how big a movement we have to do, we are not going to back down. On Sunday, we symbolically protested. Hundreds of people joined the candle march, this is just the beginning of the movement, nothing is more important than life, we did not buy a plot/flat here so that the authority could make such a dumping yard at the root of our plot.
