Greater Noida: Rules are being openly flouted in Plumeria Garden Estate Society located in Sector Omicron-3, just 500 meters away from the Greater Noida Authority Headquarters. Illegal construction is being done by cutting trees here, but the administration has not taken any concrete action on this till now.
Allegations of society residents
The residents of the society have alleged in the complaint given to the authority that the AOA of the society itself is getting illegal construction done. Shops are being built by cutting trees outside the gate. Residents say that some officials of the authority came to inspect and declared it illegal and also issued a notice, but instead of taking action, they said let them build, we will demolish it later. This attitude further boosted the morale of those doing illegal construction. Now the construction of the second shop has also started.
Old complaints also remained ineffective
Residents of the society said that this problem is not new. Last year too, residents had lodged a complaint with the Forest Department and Greater Noida Authority regarding the felling of trees and illegal construction in large numbers. The officials did inspect the place but later ignored the complainants and hushed up the matter by discussing with those against whom the complaint was lodged in a closed room.
