Greater Noida: Pari Chowk, widely regarded as the heart of Greater Noida and one of the city’s most prominent landmarks, is facing growing concerns over poor maintenance and deteriorating civic infrastructure. Residents and active citizens have alleged that several areas surrounding Pari Chowk have fallen into neglect, raising questions about the upkeep of the city’s key public spaces.

Parks, green belts and footpaths in poor condition

According to citizen activist Harendra Bhati of the Active Citizens Team, the condition of parks, green belts, central verges, footpaths and road dividers around Pari Chowk has worsened considerably. Areas that were once known for their greenery and well-maintained landscapes are now reportedly suffering from inadequate upkeep and lack of regular monitoring.

Residents say damaged landscaping, overgrown vegetation and neglected public spaces are affecting the overall appearance of the city and diminishing the charm of one of Greater Noida’s most important junctions.

Open electrical infrastructure raises safety concerns

Apart from aesthetic concerns, citizens have also highlighted potential safety hazards in the area. Open electrical cables and uncovered electrical boxes have reportedly been spotted at several locations around Pari Chowk. Such conditions can pose risks to pedestrians and commuters, especially during the monsoon season when waterlogging and exposed electrical infrastructure can become dangerous.

Citizens have urged the authorities to conduct an immediate inspection and take corrective measures to prevent any untoward incidents.

Questions raised over departmental oversight

Harendra Bhati has alleged that the deteriorating condition of the area reflects the negligence of multiple departments responsible for maintaining the city’s infrastructure. These include the Horticulture Department, Civil Department, Electrical Department, Health Department and other concerned wings of the Greater Noida Authority.

According to citizens, while publicity and promotional activities continue across the city, the condition of green belts, central verges and roundabouts is steadily worsening, impacting the city’s image.

Citizens demand restoration of city’s landmark

Residents and members of the Active Citizens Team have called upon the Greater Noida Authority to take immediate action to restore the condition of Pari Chowk and its surrounding areas. They have demanded regular maintenance, improved cleanliness, repair of damaged infrastructure and enhanced monitoring to ensure that the city’s most recognizable landmark reflects the standards expected of a planned urban township.

Harendra Bhati stated that Greater Noida’s identity is closely linked to Pari Chowk and maintaining the area should remain a priority for the concerned departments.
