Noida: A major infrastructure upgrade is underway in Sector 126, one of Noida’s prominent institutional areas, with the Noida Authority developing a road as a modern model road to improve connectivity, pedestrian movement and the overall appearance of the sector.
The project is being undertaken in accordance with the directions of the Noida Authority CEO and has an estimated cost of ₹283.23 lakh, or approximately ₹2.83 crore.
450-Metre Road To Be Upgraded
The road being developed under the project will be approximately 450 metres long and 30 metres wide.
The upgrade is aimed at making movement through the institutional sector more convenient, safe and organised. Sector 126 houses several prominent institutional establishments and educational institutions, resulting in regular movement of students, employees, visitors and other commuters.
Footpaths And Drains On Both Sides
As part of the model road project, properly developed footpaths and drains will be constructed on both sides of the road.
The improved pedestrian infrastructure is expected to provide people with a more organised walking route while also improving drainage arrangements along the stretch.
Granite And Tactile Tiles For Pedestrians
The footpaths will also receive aesthetic and functional improvements through the installation of granite stone and tactile tiles.
Tactile paving can help provide navigational cues for pedestrians with visual impairments, while the upgraded surface is expected to improve the overall usability and appearance of the footpaths.
Focus On Safety, Mobility And Aesthetics
The Noida Authority said the development work is intended not only to improve traffic movement but also to enhance the visual appeal of Sector 126.
Once completed, the model road is expected to improve connectivity, pedestrian facilities, drainage and overall road infrastructure in the area.
For an institutional sector witnessing regular movement of students and professionals, the upgraded road could provide a more structured and convenient commuting experience.
The project is part of the Authority’s ongoing infrastructure improvement efforts aimed at upgrading roads and public facilities across Noida.
