Noida: Residents have raised concerns over the deteriorating condition of the Children’s Park in Sector 51, alleging that several facilities in the park have remained damaged and poorly maintained for years. They have urged the Noida Authority’s Horticulture Department to take immediate action to repair or remove damaged structures and improve cleanliness and safety.
According to residents, a helicopter structure installed for children has been lying broken for nearly two years. A boat built on the theme of the Titanic has also reportedly remained damaged for the past six to seven years. Residents said the wooden structure has deteriorated over time and moss has formed on it, creating a safety risk for children.
They alleged that parts of the damaged structure can break when children climb on them, increasing the risk of injuries. Residents have demanded that the Authority either repair the damaged play structures or remove them from the park.
“When visitors see such dirt and neglect in the park early in the morning, it affects the entire experience. Regular cleaning and maintenance should be ensured,” he said.
Residents have also raised concerns about two rainwater harvesting pits installed in the Children’s Park around three years ago. They alleged that the pits have not been opened or cleaned since their installation and rainwater does not properly drain into them during the monsoon.
Similar concerns have been raised about Meghdootam Park in Sector 50, where residents claim that despite the presence of more than 50 rainwater harvesting pits, waterlogging continues to occur on the tracks and inside the park during rainfall.
They have demanded regular maintenance and cleaning of all rainwater harvesting pits installed by the Noida Authority to ensure that they function properly during the monsoon season.
Another concern is the condition of the walking track. Residents said that soil and moss have accumulated on several parts of the track, making it slippery. They alleged that elderly visitors have faced the risk of falling and getting injured due to the poor condition of the pathway.
