Ramlila Mahasangh Meets MCD Commissioner
A delegation of Shri Ramlila Mahasangh, representing Ramlila committees across Delhi, met Municipal Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar under the leadership of Mahasangh President Arjun Kumar. The delegation submitted a memorandum requesting that all issues related to Ramlila preparations be resolved well in advance.
Organisers Seek Timely Permissions
President Arjun Kumar urged the Commissioner to ensure that MCD grounds are allotted to organisers at least 40 days before the commencement of Ramlila staging. The Mahasangh also requested permission to display banners and hoardings for publicity from August 25 to October 25.
The delegation further sought regular spraying of DDT powder and anti-malaria and dengue medicines at Ramlila venues, adequate public toilets, proper lighting around the venues and the continuation of the single-window clearance system at zonal offices, as implemented last year.
Ramlila to Be Held from October 11 to 21
Mahasangh General Secretary Subhash Goyal informed the Commissioner that this year’s Ramlila celebrations will be organised from October 11 to October 21, 2026, while Dussehra will be celebrated on October 20, 2026.
MCD Promises Full Cooperation
After hearing the delegation’s concerns, Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar assured them that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi would extend complete cooperation to all Ramlila committees. He said all necessary civic facilities would be provided to ensure the successful and smooth organisation of the religious event, as in previous years.
Commissioner Honoured by Delegation
Members of the delegation, including Arjun Kumar, Subhash Goyal, Jathedar Avtar Singh and Sanjay Jain, felicitated the Commissioner by presenting him with a symbolic Hanuman Gada, a Lord Ram memento and a copy of the Ramayana.
