Noida : An LPG supply crunch in parts of Noida and Ghaziabad is forcing domestic workers and daily wage earners to return to wood-fired chulhas and rely on costly small cylinders or informal supply chains,.
In Chaprauli, domestic worker Nisha Devi now starts her day before dawn, cooking on a chulha after failing to get a refill. The shortage has increased her workload and expenses, with a 5-kg cylinder costing around ₹1,500 and lasting barely a week.
Workers across Gejha and Harola report delays in getting cylinders, forcing them to depend on employer-provided food or basic staples.
Cooking on firewood adds to physical exhaustion even before work begins.
